It’s that time of year when the air turns cool and crisp and one starts thinking about the holidays fast approaching. Its also that time of year when we host our scrapbook retreats.
I remember my mom telling me how much she loved hosting scrapbook retreats and after hosting a few myself, I can see why. The ladies that come are some of the most friendly and fun ladies I’ve met! I am constantly amazed by what they create as well.
At our retreats I am blessed to do something I love: make delicious homecooked meals. Please do not think I am bragging on my cooking, I’m just saying what some of the ladies and my family tell me. Truly though, there is just something about pulling out a hot fresh batch of french bread from the oven to enjoy alongside a bowl of hearty cheeseburger soup. Or the mouthwatering taste of everyone’s favorite Chicken Pot Pie. Thank you Pioneer Woman! And who can resist sizzling bacon served with tasty breakfast casserole.
The food is only one of the perks. We setup the living room/dining room with 6 foot tables, comfy rolling chairs, individual architect lamps and power strips. Plenty of space to lay out a project and work late into the night while visiting with friends. Whether you want to scrapbook, craft, or sew; we have the space for you.
When you want to take a break from all of that creating, you can enjoy sitting on the porch soaking in the peace and quiet of the country. You might get a few snuggles from one of the cats too. Or take a nice walk down the road to our private river access and look for rocks while enjoying the sound of the flowing water. Many have enjoyed taking a drive into Caledonia to the antique shops and to the General Mercantile Store for some of the best ice cream we’ve ever had.
So don’t wait, gather up your projects and book your scrapbook retreat, crafting retreat, or girls getaway before the time gets away from you. I promise, you won’t regret it. Just ask some of our past guests!
